b'AROUND THE WORLD | THE IRELAND FUND OF SINGAPORE1 23 4 5 6Singapore Gala BallOCTOBER, 2011 THE ANNUAL GALA BALL OF THE SINGAPORE IRELAND FUND(TSIF) was held at the iconic Fullerton Hotel, Singapore, attended by some 350 guests, including Irish Ambassador to Singapore HE Joseph Hayes and his wife, Deirdre along with Dr. Stanley Quek and his wife,Bebe. Other special guests included the President & CEO of The Worldwide Ireland Funds, KieranMcLoughlin. Guests enjoyed a full programme of entertainment including performances by the Irish Inspirational Dance Group, Irish traditional music by CRAN and a special Sean-nos performance by a 7 talented young member of the Irish diaspora, Emma Reilly. It was hard to pick an outstanding perform-ance from the evening but most guests would agree that, following a fanfare entrance provided by the St.1 Cheque Presentation to Down Syndrome Association: MonicaJosephs Pipers, the performance by a group of drummers at the beginning of the evening from the DownDe Silve-Lim, Dr. Stanley Quek, Kieran McLoughlin,Syndrome Association of Singapore (DSA) was special. The DSA was one of the beneficiaries of the BallHE Joseph Hayes2 Cheque Presentation to VIVAproceeds along with the VIVA Foundation which provides services to those involved in providing care toFoundation:Dr. Sally Blair, Assoc. Prof. Allen Yeoh,children with cancer. Micheal Smith took to the podium and raised a record S$202,000 during the char-Dr. Stanley Quek, Kieran McLoughlin, HE Joseph Hayes ity auction.
