On Thursday, March 12, The Ireland Funds Boston Young Leaders kicked off Boston’s 50th anniversary celebrations at their annual St. Patrick’s Celebration in the Ballroom of the InterContinental Hotel. The Ireland Funds was delighted to welcome special guests Steve Burton, Director of Sports at WBZ-TV, CBS, and Vice Consul General of Ireland in Boston, Paul Rooney.

Co-Chairs Anisha Sullivan and Bobby Kelly welcomed over 400 guests and extended warm thanks to all generous sponsors, auction donors, and attendees. Vice Consul Paul Rooney wished everyone a Happy St. Patrick’s season on behalf of the Irish Government, praised The Ireland Funds for its impactful work across the island of Ireland, and celebrated the enduring ties between Ireland and Boston.

Steve Burton delivered an inspiring message to the young leaders in the room — from setting goals to seizing every opportunity to lead. He spoke movingly about the relationship and parallels between The Ireland Funds and The Ron Burton Training Village, and the profound importance of giving back.

It was a festive affair featuring Irish band Devri, Irish dancers from Boston College, and a lively silent auction that raised vital funds to advance the mission of The Ireland Funds and support organizations across Ireland and right here in Boston.

Special thanks to our Event Committee of more than 50 members whose tireless efforts and dedication made the night a great success and a wonderful evening of camaraderie, connection, and community.
