On Friday, January 27, 2012 The American Ireland Fund’s Young Leaders gathered to chase away the winter blues while supporting the mission of the Fund with the second annual WinterGreen Gala at the Galleria Marchetti. Pat Tully, National Director of the Young Leaders, addressed the group emphasizing the benefits of being a Young Leader and the need to raise funds for so many worthy causes. He also spoke about the inaugural Young Leaders’ Summit that had taken place in New York the previous weekend.
Roseann LeFevour, Midwest Regional Director of The American Ireland Fund, talked about the history, the mission, and highlighted some of the projects that are supported by The American Ireland Fund. Following the brief remarks the guests enjoyed a night of great company and dancing to the band, Standing Room Only.
Sponsors of the evening include Brotschul Potts LLC, Grosvenor Capital Management LP, Invest Northern Ireland,
Denis and Sondra Healey, John and Barbara Keeley, Jim and Margaret Kenny, Tom and Diane Meagher, Jack and Jenny O’Callahan, Michael and Kay O’Halleran.
In addition to helping to underwrite the event, these sponsorships allowed the Young Leaders to invite the newly arrived young professional interns from Ireland to attend the evening as their guests. This is another example of The American Ireland Fund joining hands across the water.
Several thousand dollars were raised for the Promising Ireland Campaign.
The Chicago Young Leaders would like to thank the following individuals and businesses for their donations to the event: Four Corners Tavern Group, Salon Soca, The Kerryman Irish Bar and Restaurant, Schubas and Lincoln Hall, Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba, Mon Amí Gabi, Chef Kristin Hamzik, Tom O’Neill, Gavin Tierney, Chicago Blackhawks, Patrick Lynch, Meg Caswell-Holladay, Eli’s Cheesecake, The Flower Firm, Ellen Hopkins, and Swank AV.
