On Thursday, March 10th, the New York Young Leaders gathered for their annual St. Patrick’s Celebration at brand new Tribeca venue Three Sixty. Boasting a 360 degree view of Manhattan and a vibrant crowd of seven hundred up-and-coming professionals at New York’s biggest and most exciting St. Patrick’s event, the Celebration was a resounding success with silent and live auctions, a raffle for a luxury trip to Ireland and honorees, John Duddy and Holt McCallany.
Co-chaired by Rob Fox & Suzanne O’Sullivan Walters, the Celebration combined St. Patrick’s tradition with the unique energy and high spirits of the Young Leaders. Live entertainment was provided by The McLean Avenue band who played both Irish favorites and contemporary classics. The crowd was delighted with a surprise appearance of Irish dancers!
Chairman of The Ireland Funds, Loretta Brennan Glucksman and President & CEO, The Worldwide Ireland Funds, Kieran McLoughlin, both highlighted the great need in Ireland at this time and encouraged guests to sign on their support for our $100 million Promising Ireland Campaign which means more to Ireland now than ever before.
Honorees John Duddy, former boxer known as “The Derry Destroyer” and actor Holt McCallany, star of FX series “Light’s Out” were gracious guests who so very aptly represented the spirit of The Fighting Irish. The St. Patrick’s Committee was thrilled to welcome them to the festivities and present each with a 2011 Irish Spirit Award
The evening concluded with an exciting Live Auction and raffle drawing including such prizes as an Exclusive Five Star All-Ireland golf package from Doonbeg, a day on the set of “Light’s Out” with Holt McCallany, a personal training session for the winner and their friends with John Duddy and a trip to the Irish Derby. Celebrating their commitment to philanthropy in the best way possible, the New York Young Leaders all helped create a truly exceptional, memorable and successful evening in the St. Patrick’s tradition.
