On the evening of Friday, March 6th, the Washington, DC Young Leaders hosted an evening to kick off the St. Patrick’s ‘season’ in style.
Over 140 guests packed Bobby Van’s DC outpost to enjoy some of their classic hors d’oeuvres as well as complimentary Jameson and Guinness to go along with some proper Irish craic to salute the St. Patrick’s season.
While guests mingled and purchase raffle tickets, Aine O’Doherty and her band began to play traditional Irish favorites as well as modern classics. Aine also provided the soundtrack for the ground shaking performance by The Culkin School of Traditional Irish Dance.
As the night continued on, Washington, DC Steering Committee Chair, Megan Molloy and Patrick Lyden addressed the supporters and thanked them for coming out along with the evening’s sponsor, The Northern Ireland Bureau. Said Megan: “We were delighted that so many Young Leaders and friends could join us to host our 3rd annual kick off to St. Patrick’s Day. It was wonderful to see so many new faces in the crowed and have the opportunity to educate them about the amazing work The American Ireland Fund does in support of worthy charities across the island of Ireland.”
The evening continued on with another roaring set by Aine O’Doherty and the winners of the raffle were announced, with the grand prize being a gift certificate to Trunk Club.
Special thanks to our host bobby vans who provided complimentary Guinness and Jameson, Washington Ireland Project, Belfast to Beltway Boxing Project and Trunk Club DC.
