On Saturday, September 24th, the Washington, DC Young Leaders hosted their leg of the 3rd annual Young Leaders Global 5K.
Nearly 50 runners and walkers gathered the morning after the Young Leaders Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day fundraiser which went into the late hours the night before, making the run that much more challenging!
Led by Washington, DC 5K Co-Chairs, Karen McMonagle and Drew Walsh, the Young Leaders and supporters gathered at Georgetown Waterfront Park to enjoy some morning refreshments and get ready to run into the park and down past the C&O canal to compete for the Delta Air Lines challenge for the top male and female finishers around the globe.
Dairmud Coughlan was the Washington, DC male winner with a time of 18:09 and Sarah Rittling Lyden was the top Washington, DC female to cross the finish line in a time of 25:33.
After the race, the Young Leaders headed for a brunch sponsored by RiRa Pub in Georgetown.
