St. Patrick’s Day Noble Call 2016
On Thursday 17th of March 2016 at the beautiful St. Andrew’s Church in Holborn, The Ireland Fund of Great Britain and the London Young Leaders were joined by over 350 guests, including many leading figures from business and politics, their spectacular annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration.
The evening was opened by Minister for Justice Frances Fitzgerald TD, who spoke passionately about the current issues facing Ireland, recent accomplishments of the nation, but also the special relationship that exists between Ireland and Great Britain. This was followed by Ambassador Dan Mullhall who did a dramatic reading of a poem from the pulpit.
Continuing the tradition of the Noble Call there were performances from Irish actors Gavin O’Connor and Garret Lombard, music from Brain Flanagan, Stephen Barry and The Wall of Sound Choir, Jane Briers and the Karen Ryan Band. The audiences were left stunned by the quality of the appearances.
This unique event also showcased the best of Irish Fayre and produce thanks to Dingle Distillery, Ted O’Leary, Sheridan’s Cheese, Broderick’s, Ballymaloe Relish, Clonakilty, Shellseekers, Cool Beans People and due to last year’s success – Carlingford Oysters.
It was a night that celebrated the rich tapestry of Irish culture that has been so warmly received by millions around the world.
