The Ireland Funds Chicago Friends of Daisy Lodge
The Ireland Funds Chicago hosted and evening with former Taoiseach, Enda Kenny at The Gage on Friday September 13th. The event was to launch the Chicago Friends of Daisy Lodge Mayo. Daisy Lodge Mayo will be the second therapeutic center set up Cancer Fund for Children.
On the shores of the tranquil Lough Corrib in Cong, Daisy Lodge, Mayo will be a new 30,000 square foot, carbon neutral therapeutic center co-designed by staff, children and parents. It will be a special place where children and their families can make memories, and have precious time to rest, reconnect and rebuild. Former Taoiseach Enda Kenny, in his role as Global Ambassador for Daisy Lodge Mayo, welcomed over 60 guests to the launch and provided an update on the progress of the center and the aims of The Chicago Friends of Daisy Lodge.
Phil Alexander, CEO of Cancer Fund for Children, talk about the benefits families dealing with cancer, get from these types of short breaks and how the big need is right across Ireland currently.
