On Wednesday, 17 March 2010, 90 Australian Ireland Fund Young Leaders and their guests witnessed the Sydney Opera House turn a beautiful shade of green to mark the 200th anniversary of St Patrick’s Day celebrations in Australia. The dazzling Sydney Harbour was a stunning setting for the evening and reminded all who there what a beautiful city we all lived in.
The Opera Bar, which offers spectacular views of the Opera House and Sydney Harbour, was the venue for the informal get together which gave the Australian Ireland Fund Young Leaders and their guests the opportunity to catch up & network, enjoy delicious food and a drink or two to celebrate St Patrick’s Day. A special thanks to Australian Ireland Fund Young Ambassador Katherine Keating, Fund Director Peter Ryan and Bruce Solimon of Opera Bar for providing and hosting such a stylish evening.
Special guests on the day included Chairman Charles Curran AC, Executive Director Teresa Keating, Director and Treasurer Yvonne le Bas and Director Briege Tuite. Australian Ireland Fund Young Leader Ambassadors present on the evening were Sophie Curran, Clare Foley, Katherine Keating and Fiona Tuite.
The Celebration turned out to be a wonderful evening and a great start to future Australian Ireland Fund Young Leaders events.
