San Francisco Young Leaders gathered together at Momo’s restaurant for a pre-game reception and the prospect of a big ballgame on Monday, April 9th. After beating the Los Angeles Dodgers in back-to-back games the previous week, the San Francisco Giants were geared up for a win when they played the Arizona Diamondbacks at AT&T Park. It was Irish Heritage Night at the ballpark with a festive Celtic atmosphere all around on a beautiful evening with warm temps of 75 degrees.
Guests were greeted by The Ireland Funds VP for Development Marjorie Muldowney and it was wonderful to see so many new supporters of The Ireland Funds. They enjoyed lively chat and hearty hors d’oeuvres, meeting old friends and making new connections. We were delighted to welcome Barry Fitzgerald and Max LeBlanc who were joined by Jack McVey, Lisa McCarthy and Kevin Wong. Brian Shalloe was there with Phillip Hovey and Frank Jakubka. Grainne Barron of Viddyad attended along with Gintare Rudyte. Denise Melone, Becky Cushman and Kerri Murphy enjoyed chatting with Tara Robinson and Daire Heneghan who will be married in Ireland in July. Patrick Ward joined us with Willie Swinnerton, Sally McVey was there with Andrew Bowman and Dave Erickson brought a fun group of friends. We were also joined by San Francisco’s Rose of Tralee, Annie Powers. All guests received special custom baseball caps, a unique gift for this game only.
In the end, the Arizona Diamondbacks got the win with a 2-1 score over the Giants but the Young Leaders spirits were high and it was a most enjoyable night together!
