On Wednesday, June 8th, members of the 2011 New York Dinner Committee gathered at the private home of AIF Chairman, Loretta Brennan Glucksman for a reception to thank them for their outstanding work on making this year’s New York Dinner Gala a triumph. The Committee worked tirelessly to exceed their ambitious target of $2.6 million dollars, proceeds of which are the crucial component to funding our annual Grant Round. ON the night, the dinner raised a remarkable $3 million. At the reception, Kieran McLoughlin, CEO, The Worldwide Ireland Funds pointed out that need is greater than ever this year. The overwhelming demand for help is exactly why the success of the $100million Promising Ireland Campaign is so relevant and important.
Present on the night was Committee Member, Hugh Gordon of The Coca-Cola Company. In honor of Hugh’s exceptional effort fundraising on behalf of Coca-Cola for this year’s dinner, acclaimed violinist, Gregory Harrington, joined the group to perform well-loved pieces including Danny Boy and specially dedicated “I’d Like to Buy the World a Coke”, to Hugh.
The caliber of the reception reflected the caliber of the 2011 Dinner Committee and, of course, guests are always delighted at the opportunity to visit the lovely home of our gracious host, Loretta.
