The American Ireland Fund held its Annual Emerald Isle Dinner at the Breakers on February 17, 2011. The event was the first public event following the Fund’s recent launch of the Promising Ireland Campaign to raise $100 million by the end of 2013 to assist Irish charities at a time when crucial support is needed more than ever. The Fund was privileged to recognized and celebrate its National Palm Beach Board of Directors for their deep commitment, generosity and friendship and for all their work they have done to help broaden the Fund’s outreach in the Palm Beach community.
The Right Honorable Brian Mulroney joined us on the night to make the presentation to the honorees: Christopher M “Kip” Condron, Lore Moran Dodge, Sheila O’Malley Fuchs, Leslie King Grenier, James F. Higgins, Michael F. Jackson, Michele Kessler, Hillie Mahoney, Thomas C. Quick.
The honorees were surprised when Christopher Mason, serenaded them with a jovial song he had especially written for them. The honorees each received their own copy framed.
A portion of the Dinner proceeds will support the Irish Georgian Assembly Building, an important and historical Georgian building in the heart of Dublin, and to the Sacred Heart School at Lake Worth.
