ENDA KENNY
Former Taoiseach (Prime Minister) of Ireland

The Ireland Funds Distinguished Leadership Award will be presented to Ireland’s former Taoiseach (Prime Minister) Enda Kenny TD. Mr. Kenny took office in March 9, 2011 at the height of the global financial crisis and left office in June of this year. Over the course of his tenure, he led Ireland out of the bailout, unemployment dropped from 15% to 6% and Ireland regained its position as the fastest growing member of the European Union. He is married to Fionnuala and they have three adult children.

The 2018 Honoree is Bill Casey, EY Americas Vice Chair, Transaction Advisory Services. Prior to becoming Vice Chair,Bill served as EY Americas TAS Deputy Leader for three years and, before that, as TAS Chief Operating Officer for the US firm. Under his operational leadership, the practice doubled in size, in terms of both people and revenue. His mother is a native of Crossmolina and his father is from Castlebar, both in County Mayo. He and wife, Amy, have two daughters, Sarah and Hannah. Bill Casey is a long-standing supporter of The Ireland Funds and many charitable causes.

SPECIAL MUSICAL PERFORMANCE

CIARÁN SHEEHAN

Ciarán, a native of Dublin, Ireland, made his theatrical debut with The Irish Repertory Theatre in NYC in Hal Prince’s play Grandchild of Kings. Since then, he has starred on Broadway in Les Miserables as Marius and The Phantom of the Opera as both Raoul and The Phantom (1,000 performances in each role). As a soloist he has sold out Carnegie Hall four times, has starred in three PBS Specials, and has numerous acting credits in TV and film. Other theatrical work includes critically acclaimed performances in Boston as Billy in Carousel and Ravenal in Showboat. He is currently touring internationally with The Four Phantoms in Concert. This summer he will be starring in Eugene O’Neill’s Anna Christie in NYC.
