On Wednesday, July 23rd, the New York Young Leaders hosted their annual Summer in the City fundraiser at the stunning Refinery Hotel’s rooftop lounge in the garment district.
Over 175 of our friends and supporters enjoyed complimentary Jameson summer cocktails and Sixpoint seasonal beers while noshing on the great hors d’oeuvres prepared by the Refinery’s world class staff.
Guests enjoyed live music by Peadar O’Hicki while relaxing in the air conditioning under the retractable glass roof that stayed closed due to the immense heat, which earned the party the nickname of “Swelter in the City.”
National Director of the Young Leaders, Pat Tully welcomed the supports and talked about the role they have played in raising over $1.35 million dollars over the last two years for the Promising Ireland Campaign to assist Irish charities. He then conducted a live auction, which included a VIP experience at Watch What Happens Live on Bravo, courtesy of the show’s Executive Producer and New York Young Leader, Deirdre Connolly.
The evening continued with a silent auction and raffle which included a tour and tasting for four at the Sixpoint Brewery in Red Hook, Brooklyn.
Special thanks to the Young Leaders who traveled into town for the event including: Shannon Murphy, Joanna Litsas and Elaine O’Connor.
Also special thanks to Terence Tubridy of the Refinery Rooftop and our sponsors: Stephen O’Neill and Jameson Irish Whiskey and Andrew McLeod of Sixpoint Brewery.
