On February 3rd, The American Ireland Fund hosted its inaugural Women’s Group event of 2016 in New York City. The event focused on women in leadership through an engaging discussion panel. The panel comprised of Loretta Brennan Glucksman, Chairman Emeritus, The American Ireland Fund, Eileen Murray, Co-CEO, Bridgewater Associates, Consul General of Ireland, Barbara Jones and Orla Tinsley, Campaigner, Author and Journalist. The discussion was moderated by Caitriona Perry, Washington Correspondent for Ireland’s national public service broadcaster, RTÉ.
The discussion debated a variety of areas of leadership including quotas, the qualities of good leaders, the value of mentors and underrepresentation among other things. The evening was attended by almost forty influential women from a variety of industries including finance, healthcare, tourism and the arts.
