ABOUT NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF IRELAND,  GALWAY

NUI Galway is one of Ireland’s foremost centres of academic excellence and has emerged as a powerful engine for economic growth in the West of Ireland. With over 18,000 students from more than 100 countries, NUI Galway is a leader among Irish universities in several key areas with global impact – including Biomedical Research, Marine Science, Law and Human Rights. In addition, the University has a distinguished reputation for research in the Humanities, particularly in the fields of Irish Studies, Theatre Film and Literature, contributing to Ireland’s cultural vibrancy and artistic richness.

SPORTS SCHOLARSHIPS AT NUI GALWAY

NUI Galway has an ambitious plan to deliver an elite sports scholarship program to meet the needs of Irish and international athletes who are competing and succeeding at the highest sporting levels and who wish to excel on the Irish and world stage.

The program is devised to provide athletes of both genders with the opportunity to reach their potential in a balanced lifestyle and environment.

The scholarship will deliver expert sports-specific coaching, sports science structures including dedicated strength and nutritional support, the provision of physiotherapy services, physiological testing, access to the high-performance gym, academic mentoring, and points derogation (if required) for admission to NUI Galway.

Currently NUI Galway is proud to have international athletes in 12 sporting codes together with over 30 inter-county Gaelic sports players. Now is an ideal time to deliver a world-class sports scholarship program at NUI Galway as the University embarks on its ambitious plans to develop state-of-the-art outdoor and indoor sporting facilities for all our students.

The proceeds of this dinner will benefit the elite sports men and women who through the sports scholarship program will endeavor to achieve their goals, bringing pride to their communities, their University and to Ireland.
