New York Dinner Gala to benefit Wexford Festival Opera 2013

American Friends of Wexford Opera hosted their Inaugural New York Dinner Gala at the Madarin Oriental Hotel in New York.  Attended by over 200 guests to support one of Ireland’s premiere cultural events the Wexford Festival Opera.  For over sixty years, hundreds of thousands of people have enjoyed to the Wexford Opera and has become known as one of the world’s most remarkable festivals.  The 2014 programme will run from October 22nd until November 2nd.
 
With 40% of its audience hailing from overseas, Wexford Festival Opera hopes to attract a similar proportion of its philanthropic support from international sources.  The New York Dinner Gala honoree was Dr. T. Pearse Lyons, founding President of Alltec Inc., the inaugural recipient of the Wexford Opera Patron of the Arts Award.
 
Loretta Brennan Glucksman is the honorary patron of the American Friends of Wexford Opera Committee and the dinner chairman was AIF director, Shane Naughton, President of Inundata.  Soprano Angela Meade, performed at the Gala with special thanks to the Metropolitan Opera House. The event was a great success enabling the first ever production of a performance by the American Friends of Wexford Opera to take place.
