The Australian Ireland Fund Melbourne Young Leaders and The Irish Chamber of Commerce hosted their annual Family Day on Sunday 6 December, celebrating the end of the year with a family picnic in Albert Park. A brilliant location was chosen, with the event nestled between a large playground and soccer field.
In near perfect weather, family and friends of the Fund were treated to a great day of food, fun and Santa. A tasty BBQ kept the masses fed, while the kids were entertained with water games and activities on the soccer field.
An early visit from Santa had the kids excited, and after pictures and presents, the day was rounded out with a rugby training session by Eoin Toolan, Young Leader committee member and Melbourne Rebels Head Performance Analyst, along with their newest Irish recruit, Jamie Hagan.
In its second year, the Family Day is aimed at thanking those who supported the Fund and Chamber during the past year, and again turned out to be a wonderful success. If for any reason you couldn’t join us this year, please save the date for next year!
From all at the Australian Ireland Fund, we would like to thank and wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
