The Australian Ireland Fund Melbourne Young Leaders and the Irish Australian Chamber of Commerce together celebrated a successful 2014 with a Family Day picnic at Hays Paddock on Sunday 14 December.
A perfect sunny day in the 'Worlds most liveable city' presented the perfect backdrop for an end of year gathering of the Melbourne Diaspora. Families and friends were treated to a scrumptious BBQ, along with a range of festive fun and activities. The entertainment kicked off with our members both young and old showing off their hurling, soccer and cricket skills, followed by activities for our little members, including a tug of war competition and a water fight, which was a perfect way to cool down after a couple of hours of fabulous fun.
It was such a perfect day that Sant O' Claus couldn't resist making an early Christmas appearance to share a few treats with the very excited children. The afternoon was aimed at saying thank you to everyone who has supported the Fund throughout 2014 and to wish everyone a safe Christmas and Happy New Year.
