On Wednesday October 18th The Ireland Funds hosted a Leadership lunch to welcome H.E. Dan Mulhall and his wife Greta to Los Angeles. The Ireland Funds was also delighted to once again welcome the new Consul General to the Western United States Robert O’Driscoll. H.E. Dan Mulhall began his appointment as Ireland’s 18th Ambassador to the United States this summer.
H.E. Dan Mulhall addressed the group providing an update on the political situation in Northern Ireland along with the Irish Government’s stance on Brexit, and discussed the importance of The Ireland Funds as an expression of the diaspora and its importance to the current state of Ireland.. He emphasized the importance of Irish America in advancing Ireland’s interests and engaged in an enlightening group discussion with guests.
The entertainment industry was well represented by Creative Artists Agency managing partner Kevin Huvane, Dallas Maverick’s owner Todd Wagner, Management 360 partner Chris Huvane, Colin McCafferty of McCafferty & Co., Electus COO Drew Buckley, Smuggler founder Brian Carmody, Niall Cooney of Vice Media, William Morris Endeavor talent agent James Farrell and 20th Century Fox President of International Marketing Kieran Breen, as well as real estate leaders Bill McMorrow of Kennedy Wilson, John Kilroy Jr. of Kilroy Reality, Alan McIntosh of Cairn Homes, Tyrone McKillen of Plus Development and noted architect Paul McClean. Irish Oscar nominees Paul Young and Nora Twomey from Kilkenny’s Cartoon Saloon joined ahead of the US premiere of their animated feature film The Breadwinner, executive produced by Angelina Jolie.
The lunch was attended by Kieran McLoughlin, Worldwide President and CEO of The Ireland Funds; Jonathan Loughran, VP Development LA and Marjorie Muldowney, VP Development San Francisco along with supporters of The Ireland Funds, the LA Regional Advisory Committee and many of Los Angeles’ business and cultural leaders.
