The American Ireland Fund hosted an Inauguration Day Parade Party and Luncheon on January 20th to celebrate the Inauguration of our 44th President, Barack Obama. The private Rotunda on Pennsylvania Avenue at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center provided the ideal comfort for Guests on the cold day and the plentiful buffet and bar topped the day off.
Kieran McLoughlin, President of The American Ireland Fund, welcomed guests and introduced “The Corrigan Brothers” who joined us direct from Ireland to enliven the celebration with, among other songs, their smash hit “No One as Irish as Barack Obama”.
Guests viewed the historic swearing-in on large screens and then were privy to view the Parade led by the President and Mrs. Obama as they passed directly in front of the room’s balcony. The event was the perfect environment for the excitement of the day shared with the Friends of the Fund.
