The Ireland Fund of Monaco’s bi-annual gathering was held on a brilliantly bright and pleasant weekend at the beginning of October.
Guests from the United States, Britain, France, Germany and of course Ireland, joined their Monegasque hosts and friends for a celebration of the links between the Principality and Ireland.
The weekend included a visit to the village of Roquebrune, last resting place of WB Yeats.
The central event was a Gala Dinner attended by His Serene Highness Prince Albert, who spoke movingly of his Mother’s love for Ireland.
The Prince presented Mr. Colum McCann with The Ireland Fund of Monaco’s Literary Award to commemorate the twentieth anniversary of Princess Grace’s death.
Fittingly The Ireland Fund of Monaco is a major contributor to the Princess Grace Library as well as other worthy projects in the two countries.
As ever, the whole affair was presided by the Founder and President of The Ireland Fund of Monaco, A. W. B. Vincent.
