The London City Lunch is one of The Ireland Funds flagship events and a key part of our annual fundraising efforts. Once again, we are delighted to return to the Mansion House and gather together the best of the Irish in Britain and raise funds to support deserving causes across Great Britain and Ireland.

Laing O’Rourke
Ray is the major shareholder and founder of the Laing O’Rourke Group. As CEO and Managing Director of Europe he chairs the Group Executive Committee and is responsible for leading the strategic direction and operational management of the Group’s business activities.
Ray founded R O’Rourke & Son in 1977 and commenced trading the following year. The business acquired the construction arm of John Laing PLC in 2001, and with the acquisition of Barclay Mowlem in 2006, created today’s extended international engineering and construction group.
Its other significant brands include Expanded, Select Plant Hire, Explore Manufacturing, Crown House Technologies, Vetter and the ground-breaking Centre of Excellence for Modern Construction, a purpose-built advanced manufacturing centre in the UK Midlands.
Ray has a passion for developing and promoting engineering and project delivery talent to meet global construction challenges, while making the construction industry safer, innovative, more sustainable and more respected.
