Golf Classic

On Monday, October 12th, 2009, The American Ireland Fund enjoyed crisp fall weather and a great day of golf at its Seventh Annual New Jersey Golf Classic at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, New Jersey.

New Jersey Golf Classic Chairman Anthony Callaghan, Esq. joined The American Ireland Fund in hosting over 85 golfers in a tremendously successful day in the philanthropic spirit of support for Ireland.

Proceeds from the event will go to support the Irish Arts Center, a non-profit Irish institution in New York bringing the very best of Irish arts and culture to audiences of all ages and ethnic backgrounds.  The Center is host to some of Ireland and America’s most exciting new visual artists and stimulating cultural exhibitions.  The Center is also home to one of New York’s top cultural education programs for children and adults of all ethnicities, taught by experts in Irish music, language and dance.

Following a fantastic day on the course, participants gathered at the clubhouse for a cocktail reception and dinner, where AIF Executive Director Steve Greeley discussed successful updates of The American Ireland Fund projects.

During an exciting Live Auction presided over by Angus Miller, two attendees won an exclusive package to the Irish Derby, including three nights’ stay at Rathsallagh House Hotel in County Wicklow and Pavilion Entrance tickets on Race Day.  The auction capped off what many have come to look forward to as the best Irish golf outing of the year.
