The Six Nations Inteational rugby weekends are great sporting events as well as favourite occasions for meeting and entertaining friends. The Ireland Funds Annual Rugby Luncheon which coincides with Ireland's first home game of the 2013 Six Nations, when Ireland will take on old rivals England, will be held on Friday, 8th February 2013. Our honouree, Dr. Syd Millar, is one of Ireland's greatest rugby personalities.

Dr Syd Millar

Syd Millar is one of Ireland’s greatest rugby personalities, he is the outgoing chairman of the IRB, played for the British and Irish Lions, was the successful coach of the 1974 Lions tour to South Africa and manager of the 1980 Lions tour to South Africa. Syd was central in securing the backing of the IRFU for the Peace Inteational organised by The Ireland Funds in 1996 which was an explicit statement against all terrorist violence after the breakdown of the IRA ceasefire.
