Dallas Dinner Honors the Texas Irish American Cup Challenge Golf Committee hosted by Tommy Gallagher
May 14, 2015
Former Dallas Golf Chairmen joined with this year’s 2015 Irish golfers to celebrate at the Dallas Crescent Club. Guests enjoyed views of the downtown Dallas skyline and the dinner took place among décor reminiscent of a classic 19th-century private club, with hardwood floors, deep wood paneling and rich carpets.
Many of the 30+ guests had travelled from Ireland to compete in the Texas Irish American Cup Challenge. For the 18th consecutive year, Tommy Gallagher hosted and sponsored this dinner for both Golf Committee members and visiting golfers from Ireland.
2015 Chairman, Brian Casey, reminded all present that Tommy Gallagher’s support of the coveted Texas Irish American Cup goes well beyond this most enjoyable annual dinner. Brian Casey thanked Tommy for the fundamental role he played in conceiving and launching the tournament 18 years ago, and for his steadfast support since then. Mike Corboy joined in the ranks of those expressing well-deserved thanks to Tommy Gallagher for all he has done to establish the golf tournament, as well as The American Ireland Fund in Dallas.
While it was a time for remembering the illustrious history of the Texas tournament, the room was filled with many new faces as well. Irish guest Dessie Farrell, Chief Executive of the Gaelic Players Association, expressed thanks to all for the warm welcome and spoke of the new friendships and connections.
A room full of friends, old and new, made for much camaraderie, many laughs and another wonderful night of memories. It was clear that the future of the Texas Irish American Cup Challenge is bright!
