Dallas Dinner honoring the Golf Committee hosted by Tommy Gallagher 2013

The dinner was held in the Dallas Petroleum Club with its magnificent views of the Dallas skyscrapers.  This setting has seen Texas Oil Barons come and go for the past 100 years and many millions have been won and lost in its hallowed halls.

Tonight the talk was all of golf, toasts, and roasts.  Chris Carrie called for a toast to Tommy Gallagher, who 16 years ago, came to Dallas to see if there was enough interest and enough Irish Texans to warrant a golf tournament.  Now it is one of the top tournaments on the North Texas golf calendar.

Tommy Gallagher could not be with us as he was in Dublin recuperating from knee surgery.  He was ably represented by his son Nick and his good friend Paddy Shanahan.  Paddy closed the evening with a toast and thanked the 2013 chair Chris Carrie and his committee with particular thanks to Tom Codd for his assistance to Tommy in the arrangements of the evening.
