Chicago Young Leaders Green Gala 2026

On Friday, March 6, The Ireland Funds Chicago Young Leaders hosted their 11th Green Gala at the iconic Café Brauer in Lincoln Park Zoo. Nearly 200 young professionals from across Chicagoland gathered for an unforgettable evening marking the long-awaited return of the event after a six-year hiatus.

A dedicated committee, led by Chair James Keeley, worked tirelessly to create a warm, elegant, and energizing celebration for all in attendance.

Guests were welcomed in spectacular fashion by the Chicago Shannon Rovers Pipe and Drum Band, who are proudly celebrating their 100th anniversary this year. Their rousing promenade set the tone for a night filled with pride, connection, and community.

Chair James Keeley opened the evening’s remarks with a heartfelt welcome and words of gratitude for the committee whose commitment brought the Green Gala back to life.

Irish Vice Consul Pádraig Manning spoke about the deep and enduring relationship between Chicago and Ireland, encouraging attendees to stay connected to their heritage and to engage with the vibrant, modern Ireland of today.

The program also featured Emily Miller, a George Moore Scholar—one of The Ireland Funds’ flagship initiatives. Emily shared her inspiring journey in Chicago and the transformative impact of the George Moore Scholarships on her academic and professional life. Following her master’s degree at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, she now teaches undergraduate students at the School, a testament to the power of opportunity and support.

The evening concluded with a lively silent auction, raising vital funds to advance the mission of The Ireland Funds and support organizations across Ireland and Irish communities worldwide.
