The Virtual Chicago Dinner was a wonderful gathering of The Ireland Funds’ community of friends and family.
The Ireland Funds honored Roseann Finnegan LeFevour on her retirement as Midwest Director of The Ireland Funds and in recognition of her leadership and unwavering commitment to helping Ireland thrive. For the last 12 years, Roseann has been instrumental to the success and growth of The Ireland Funds throughout Chicago and this special acknowledgment was so well deserved.
In addition to tributes to Roseann from her family and friends, guests heard inspirational words from the President of Ireland Michael D. Higgins, Liam Neeson, The Edge, Michael Flatley, Michael Kelly and Marie Heaney. Musical performances were provided by the Royal Irish Academy of Music and Music Generation, two outstanding programs funded by The Ireland Funds.
During the program, tributes were paid to the late Denis Healy of Turtle Wax, a Board Director and a founding father of The Ireland Funds in Chicago, whose generosity and leadership bettered the lives of thousands of people across Chicago and the island of Ireland.
Most importantly, the impact, stories and messages of gratitude from projects on the frontlines in Ireland, were shared.
Thanks our friends and donors, we reached our ambitious target of $2 million from our virtual events in Chicago, Boston, New York and San Francisco. This magnificent result is testament to the strength of our community and friends who year after year, have stood by The Ireland Funds even in the most challenging of times. In doing so, our donors truly strengthened The Ireland Funds’ work in delivering critical services to communities in need across the island of Ireland.
