On Wednesday July 27th 2022, The Ireland Funds Regional Advisory Committee gathered for summer cocktails after our first in-person board meeting in two years.
A warm welcome was extended to new committee members Áine Denari and Dan Gibbons, we are excited to have both of them on board.
The evening started with a committee meeting and planning is well underway for the 2022 Annual Chicago Dinner which will be held on Thursday December 8th 2022 at The Four Seasons Hotel.
Áine Mallaghan, VP Development Midwest for The Ireland Funds, gave the board an overview of The Ireland Funds Ukrainian Relief Fund. Over 40,000 refugees have arrived in Ireland so far and The Ireland Funds is now delivering crucial relief support for the refugees being welcomed into Ireland. The areas of need we are addressing include access to education, resettlement and community integration, accommodation, employment and the provision of mental health services.
The Ireland Funds and our network have always stepped up in times of crisis and we wish to thank those generous supporters who have enabled this work so far.
Abbey Canning and James Keeley gave an update on the status of the Young Leaders chapter in Chicago and some of the events being planned for later this year. It will be great to have our Young Leaders back in action.
Áine finished off the evening by providing an overview of The Ireland Funds Worldwide Conference held in Killarney, County Kerry in June which was a great success.
After committee business was completed, the committee gathered on The Terrace of The Chicago Club, in beautiful weather for summer cocktails and socializing. Thanks to Dan Sullivan for hosting us in this fabulous venue.
