On Monday, June 5, 2017, Chicago Business Leaders gathered at the Ocean Cut Restaurant for a special lunch with An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny TD, Ambassador Anne Anderson and Consul General Brian O’Brien.
The Taoiseach announced the opening of an Enterprise Ireland office in Chicago, designed to support Irish companies investing in the Midwest.
He also spoke of Ireland’s priorities in the context of Brexit and emphasized Ireland’s strong commitment to its EU membership and to free trade.
Representatives of The Ireland Funds joined guests from Enterprise Ireland, IDA Ireland and Bord Bia to reinforce the Taoiseach’s message, promoting Ireland’s strengths as a location for investment and a source of quality goods and services.
Many Ireland Funds’ Board Members have operations in Ireland. The lunch was an opportunity to receive a key update on Ireland’s economy and to hear the Taoiseach highlight the attributes which continue to make Ireland an attractive location for trade and investment, particularly as a gateway into the European market.
