In what has become one of the most festive nights on the New York social calendar, Young Leaders gathered on Thursday, December 3rd to celebrate the holidays and ring in the New Year at the Celtic Christmas Celebration at Moran’s Chelsea.
Surrounded by Moran’s stone fireplaces, handcrafted cherrywood bars and cozy interior, Young Leaders enjoyed an evening of dinner, drinks and dancing, punctuated by silent and live auctions, a raffle and the presentation of the Young Leader of the Year Award to Rob MacGoey, co-chair of the 2009 St. Patrick’s Celebration. Live Auction prizes included tickets to the New York Giants, an exclusive Jets football package and a luxury trip to Rathsallagh House Hotel in County Wicklow. Young Leader Dan O’Connor won the raffle for a trip to Ireland, including two nights at the 5-star Dylan Hotel in Dublin.
A special appearance by New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn capped off a truly delightful evening as she toasted the success of the Young Leaders and the completion of their $1 million fundraising goal. Raising a glass towards the prospective challenges and successes of 2010, Speaker Quinn helped the Young Leaders cap off a difficult but ultimately triumphant year.
Many thanks and a Merry Christmas to all our friends in Young Leaders.
