We were delighted to welcome 180 generous guests to our recent Ireland Funds Australia Brisbane Charity Lunch which coincided with the British and Irish Lions Tour of Australia. Held in support of projects that are making a real difference across the island of Ireland and in the Irish community in Australia. The afternoon was filled with warmth, goodwill and a shared commitment to philanthropy. We were thrilled to have Board Member Catherine Murphy, ABC Sports Presenter, MC our lunch and the highlight of the day was having both Henry Speight, former Wallabies centre and Ulster player with us and Irish man Eoin Toolan, assistant coach for the Wallabies who took some precious time out from Wallabies camp to be with us.
It was wonderful to see both familiar faces and new supporters including Sallyanne Atkinson AO, Minister Fiona Simpson, Clare McMonagle CFO British and Irish Lions, come together for a meaningful cause, and we are incredibly grateful for the spirit and energy everyone brought to the event.
A sincere thank you to our fantastic table captains, whose support was instrumental in gathering such an enthusiastic crowd. We are also deeply appreciative of our Board Members, especially Chair Yvonne le Bas, Ambassador Tim Mawe, Dr. Tom Moore and Catherine Murphy, present on the day, and all board members whose guidance and dedication continue to shape the impact of the Ireland Funds across Australia.
