On the morning of Tuesday 9th July, Young Leaders attended a Breakfast Leadership Session at EY to hear from Yvonne Le Bas, CFO at Resolution Life & Chair of The Ireland Funds Australia in conversation with Bridget Walsh, Global Head of Private Equity at EY & Chair of The Ireland Funds Great Britain.
Prominent themes, such as, curiosity, purpose and lifelong learning flowed through the conversation as Yvonne spoke openly about her journey to Australia and navigating her way up the corporate ladder in the financial sector, to quickly becoming an inspirational people leader. Yvonne’s advice to the Young Leaders in the room was:
-It’s important to give back, in whatever capacity you can
-Work with people who you will learn something from
-Don’t be afraid to ask for help early on in your career
-“This isn’t a dress rehearsal” – don’t be hesitant with the opportunities that come your way
A conversation between two esteemed Chairs of The Ireland Funds allowed the Young Leaders an insight into the plans and visions for the two chapters. Both Bridget and Yvonne reiterated how focused both their chapters are on themes such as Education, including the No Mind Left Behind scholarship programme, Northern Ireland, and giving back to local communities, as well as projects and initiatives in Ireland.
