On Thursday, March 12th, an exuberant group of over 500 Young Leaders and supporters gathered for The American Ireland Fund Boston Young Leaders’ St. Patrick’s Celebration. The Boston Harbor Hotel’s stunning Wharf Room, with its 180 degree views of Boston Harbor, provided a first-class setting. Back by popular demand, the upbeat music of Boston’s popular Irish band, “Devri” set the mood for the evening.
Great silent auction items and four “raffle bundles” of sports tickets, hotel stays and other items helped the Committee exceed its event goal and make this one of the most successful Young Leader events in Boston Young Leader history. The event raised significant support for The American Ireland Fund’s work across the island of Ireland and its Promising Ireland Campaign to assist Irish charities.
The 2015 event was Co-Chaired by Shannon Murphy McAllister (JP Morgan), AJ Gerritson (451 Marketing), Mike Lynch (Standish), Matt Gaughan (Nutter McClennen) and Colleen Carney (State Street Global Advisors).
One of the night’s highlights was the remarks of Tánaiste Joan Burton, the Deputy Prime Minister of Ireland, who spoke of the momentum of the Irish economic recovery and Ireland’s appreciation of the work of The American Ireland Fund.
