On Saturday, September 24th, The Ireland Fund Young Leaders around the globe held their 3rd Annual “The Irish Run the World” Global 5k, which spanned over 20hrs and covered 80km in 16 different cities in 6 different countries.
The virtual baton started in Australia, crossed the Atlantic and made its next stop in Boston, where a group of 45 spirited Young Leaders gathered at Boston Marathon Runbase on Boylston Street and ran the 5k race along the beautiful Charles River Esplanade.
Runners were motivated not only by knowing they were raising support for the work of The American Ireland Fund, but also by the prize of round trip tickets offered by run sponsor Delta Airlines for the fastest male and female global times.
In true Irish fashion, the group celebrated at the famous Irish bar Lir after the race.
