Global Leadership Series with Elizabeth Kennedy Trudeau
The beautiful Duncairn was the setting for a private evening with US Consul General Elizabeth Kennedy Trudeau as part of the Global Leadership Series. Dr Bill Shaw OBE welcomed the Young Leaders to the Duncairn, and explained it is a shared space providing support for disadvantaged communities in North Belfast, owned by 174 Trust, a long-standing grantee of The Ireland Funds. Dr Shaw OBE spoke of the support the 174 Trust receives from The Ireland Funds, and the difference it makes.
Elizabeth Kennedy Trudeau, who assumed her duties in Belfast in September 2018, spoke of her connection to Ireland, and in particular Northern Ireland. In conversation with Jonathan Ireland, a member of the Belfast Young Leaders chapter, she spoke of her career, the lessons she’s learnt, and her ambition for positive change. She advised the Young Leaders to get involved in making a difference, to be part of something that is growing, and in organisations like The Ireland Funds working to make a change.
