Belfast held its first-ever leg of The Ireland Funds Young Leaders Global 5k as it became the 16th participating city for the now annual run.
The run was held in the picturesque Ormeau Park, and while the sun may not have shown up, the runners sure did! Amongst those running was Kathryn Walls, who, with an impressive time of 18.42, claimed the Delta prize for overall fastest female out of all the global runners. The fastest male for Belfast, Ian McIntyre, wasn’t far behind her finishing with a strong time of 18.52. It was a really fun morning with all of the runners being cheered on heartily by The Ireland Funds VP Caitriona Fottrell.
Thanks to the runners, timekeepers, and cheerleaders who came out to support great causes and not-for-profit work across the island of Ireland. We’re looking forward to coming back next year.
