On Tuesday, 10th of December 2013, the Australian Ireland Fund Melbourne Young Leaders held their inaugural Christmas Event. To tie in with the philanthropic views of the Funds the venue “Shebeen” was chosen as the gathering place for the night where 100% of the profits made at the bar help to send back funds to your drink of choice’s country of origin.
As well as that, entrance tickets for the night were sold to raise funds for projects of the Australian Ireland Fund -Darndale Children’s Camp and Barnardos to name a few. As the guests enjoyed the tasty food provided with thanks to sponsorship by NAB, Adrian Hanley welcomed the group followed by a few words from Sarah Mangan from the Irish Embassy in Canberra.
On the night a door raffle was held where a number of raffle prizes had been kindly donated by Brendan Sheehan of White Squires, Simon Wilson of Taste of Melbourne and Gaynor Crawford of Gaynor Crawford Presents. Congratulations to the winners who won a bottle of Moët, Taste of Melbourne tickets a double pass to see Lunasa the Traditional Irish Band.
The event gave the Australian Ireland Fund Young Leaders and their guests the opportunity to catch up & network over a drink or two to celebrate the start of the Christmas season whilst supporting the philanthropic work of the Australian Ireland Fund.
Our thanks to all who attended and for their ongoing support.
