Welcome to the wild world of Irishman Enda Walsh, one of the more remarkable playwrights writing (and I mean writing) today….[I]f you relish quality acting and a brilliantly written, tumultuous dance of words, take your partner and dosado to The New Electric Ballroom.
– Robert Crew, Toronto Star
The poignant performance by MacKenzieRo for the Canadian Premiere of The New Electric Ballroom, written by Enda Walsh, celebrated contemporary Irish theatre with the Fund and its guests.
The Fund welcomed Irish Ambassador Ray Bassett to Canada. We were privileged to an evening of cocktails and gourmet appies served in the Rehearsal Hall of the Tarragon Theatre complemented by a few words from the director, Autumn Smith. Ms. Smith provided the guests with an introduction to the play, its writer, and her intepretation for the stage.
The private event was shared by sixty theatre enthusiasts mesmerized by the material created by Enda Walsh.
Special thanks to our volunteers, MacKenzieRo for the private theatre performance, and Mildred’s Temple Kitchen for the gourmet ensemble of hors d’oeuvres.
