On Thursday, November 20, the Ireland Funds Chicago Young Leaders gathered at The Galway Arms for their annual Fall Celebration. More than 50 friends — both familiar and new — came together for a wonderful evening of community and connection.
Event Chairs Molly O’Neill and Mary Therese Forsythe welcomed guests and expressed gratitude for their continued support. Young Leaders Chair James Keeley shared his vision for 2026, highlighting opportunities to further advance the mission of The Ireland Funds. He also announced the much‑anticipated return of the Young Leaders Green Gala, taking place on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Café Brauer in Lincoln Park Zoo. This marks the first Green Gala since 2020, with early‑bird tickets available through December 31, 2025.
Áine Mallaghan, Vice President of Development for The Ireland Funds Midwest, spoke about the organization’s impact both in Ireland and Chicago, and encouraged attendees to get involved. She also highlighted the upcoming Worldwide Conference in Dublin, June 18–20, 2026, celebrating the 50th Anniversary of The Ireland Funds.
The evening also featured remarks from Vice‑Consul General of Ireland, Pádraig Manning, who underscored the vital role of the Irish Consulate in Chicago and the Midwest, and the enduring relationship between Ireland and the United States.
Special thanks to the staff at The Galway Arms for their warm hospitality and to our sponsor, Marano Beverage, for their generous support. We look forward to gathering with our friends and supporters throughout 2026.
