Presented in partnership with The Ireland Funds and the University of NSW, we were thrilled to have internationally acclaimed author Paul Lynch with us to discuss his 2023 Booker Prize Winner Prophet Song last Thursday 23rd May. It was an intimate evening and we were so appreciative of Paul giving us his time amidst a busy Sydney Writers’ Festival schedule.
The evening commenced with Paul giving an exclusive reading of a captivating excerpt from Prophet Song, which perfectly highlighted the tension built within the novel, having everyone on the edge of their seat!
The reading flowed seamlessly into the conversation led by Professor Elizabeth McMahon of UNSW. It was a great discussion revealing many great insights from Paul, including the impact of the choices we make when faced with dire circumstances and how universal the book’s themes are in our current world.
Paul then wrapped up the evening by signing copies of his book, with guests enjoying light refreshments.
