We were thrilled to host our Brisbane Supporter’s Lunch at Hillstone St Lucia on the 2nd August 2024. It was a wonderful day catching up with old friends and making new ones, spreading awareness of the work of the Ireland Funds and coming together to connect whilst also giving back to those less fortunate than ourselves. We were so thankful to the 150 guests who attended the lunch and contributed to such an amazing day.
Chair Yvonne Le Bas welcomed guests and thanked our major sponsors and supporter
including Australian Radio Network, Charles Curran AC, Coolmore Australia, Alloggio, Glen Dimplex, Miriam Innes, our Board Members, Governors, Associates, Benefactors and Young Leaders. Yvonne gave an update on the work of the Fund here in Australia and acknowledged many of the projects we support, including the Trinity St James’s Cancer Institute.
Thanks to the help of our very generous supporters, our grant round to June 2024 raised over $380,000 to support 15 projects in Ireland and Australia. We are thrilled to say we raised over $30,000 from the lunch to further support these projects.
Thank you to our MC Catherine Murphy and special guest speaker Les Kiss, Head Coach of the Queensland Reds for adding an exciting element to the day. Thank you also to our auctioneer Tom Gunness from Ray White for conducting our live auction which saw many of the items in high demand! We enjoyed wonderful entertainment from Radio Club band as we finished the lunch with Baileys and Irish coffees thanks to our friends at Diageo, Guinness and Lion.
We cannot wait to be back and see you all again next year.
