On a balmy summer’s eve in June, our donors and supporters joined us for a night of sublime theatre, good food and lively discussions. The evening began with a drink’s reception at Quo Vadis where The Ireland Funds Great Britain Treasurer, Ruairi Conneely, welcomed guests and updated them on the recent activities of the chapter.
As guests sat down to a private dinner, Director of the Abbey Theatre, Neil Murray introduced himself, the award-winning play of the evening, CitySong, and traced the Abbey Theatre’s relationship with The Ireland Funds.
The group then moved on to Soho Theatre where they saw a performance of the Abbey Theatre’s production of CitySong. Over ninety minutes, Dubliner playwright Dylan Coburn-Gray showed the three generations of a Dublin family on one epic day through poetry and a chorus of voices.
The night was rounded off with dessert and drinks back at Quo Vadis which Dylan Coburn-Gray and the cast joined for. It was a wonderful evening that underlined the strength of support The Ireland Funds Great Britain has to arts and culture.
