On Thursday, December 5th, 2019, The Ireland Funds New York Young Leaders gathered for their annual Celtic Christmas tradition in the loft at Route 66 Smokehouse on Stone Street to celebrate a great year and recognize our Young Leader of the Year, Patrick Murphy. As guests arrived, they enjoyed some great Irish music by the Basket House Band.
Later in the evening, David Cronin, President & CEO of The Ireland Funds America welcomed guests and spoke of the importance of the Young Leaders to The Ireland Funds. Board Member Kevin Curley, then introduced Cliona Doyle, Director of the Young Leaders and thanked her for over five years of service to The Ireland Funds. Cliona welcomed guests. She thanked those gathered for another successful year for the New York Young Leaders and for their support and friendship during her time in New York.
Cliona then handed the program over to 2018 Young Leader of the Year, Sinead Faughnan, to introduce 2019 New York Young Leader of the Year, Patrick Murphy. Sinead spoke of Patrick’s proud roots in Co. Cork and his commitment to The Ireland Funds throughout 2018, making him a truly deserving honoree.
Patrick accepted the award and detailed his experience with The Ireland Funds and encouraged those gathered to increase their involvement with The Ireland Funds and the Young Leaders.
