On Monday, September 25th, 1017, The Ireland Funds hosted their fifteenth annual New Jersey Golf Classic at the picturesque Bayonne Golf Club.
The morning started with welcome remarks from Pat Tully, New York Director and National Director of The Young Leaders who also extended a thank you to Honoree Gerry Boyle and the event sponsors.
After a long day on the links of Bayonne, supporters gathered for cocktails on the terrace, followed by dinner and an awards ceremony.
The Ireland Funds America Chairman Emeritus, Loretta Brennan Glucksman introduced John Sharkey, who received The Ireland Funds’ Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding philanthropy and dedication to our mission of peace and reconciliation.
Vice President of Development Kyle Clifford then introduced honoree Gerry Boyle, who thanked The Ireland Funds for the honor and spoke about his role as Chairman of the Irish Arts Center Board and the new building going up in 2018, which will be a beacon for Irish arts in New York City.
Pat Tully then led a fun live auction, which included a trip to play in the RORY Foundation Pro-Am in Ireland.
Co-Chairs Matthew McBride and Patrick Leahy then thanked the Golf Committee and sponsors and handed out the golf awards.
