On Saturday, December 5th, San Francisco’s American Ireland
Fund Young Leaders gathered at Original Joe’s, located in the heart of San
Francisco’s bustling Italian district. Part of the fabric of the city for
75 years, Original Joe’s is the quintessential, classic San Francisco dining
experience laden with history and ambience. Event Chairs LJ Prendergast
and Ian Casey kicked off the festive season in the Salesian Room with a special
Brunch for the Young Leaders, designed to encourage the group to join us at the
5th annual Young Leaders Global Summit in New York, January 14-17, 2016.
They were joined by Ireland’s Vice Consul Kevin Byrne who spoke
enthusiastically about the work of The Ireland Funds, and by San Francisco
Young Leaders Chair Mike McGrath.
Young Leaders had a chance to meet and mingle over mimosas
during the reception before enjoying a delicious brunch. We were
delighted to greet friends of The American Ireland Fund and make some new
connections, and the room was abuzz with chatter. Ian Casey and LJ
Prendergast welcomed guests and gave an overview of the important philanthropic
work of the Fund and the value in attending the upcoming Summit. Guests
included Oisin Heneghan, Ciaran Byrne, Eoghan Keane, Katie Slattery, David
Nolan, Aislinn Marron, Nick Ginger, Emma McGurk, Jake Malanoski, and Alan
McGlinchey. Also present were Jessica Dal Porto, Brendan & Alexia
Fallon, Stephanie Ruiz, Mike Stack, Elizabeth Carter, Philip Gilsenan, Kevin
Conroy, and Deirdre Fallon. Guests were keen to join the San Francisco
Young Leaders Society and participate in future fun gatherings like this one.
