The sun shone, and runners ran.
On 26th September the Dublin chapter of The Ireland Funds Young Leaders laced up and joined the global Irish in 15 cities on 3 continents, running together in support of outstanding charities across the island of Ireland.
After Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Hong Kong, and London, Dublin Young leaders stepped up to the start line to accept the virtual baton. True to form, the Dublin Young Leaders accepted it with gusto. Runners sprinted towards the finish line, and walkers ambled happily in the sunshine.
The first runner across the line was Eoin Corrigan in a speedy 21.44 minutes, followed very closely by the first woman Kitty Perle. The virtual baton was then handed across the ocean to our friends in Toronto.
After the race the runners soaked up the sun in the surrounds of Monkstown Rugby Club and enjoyed burgers, and the bustling atmosphere.
Almost 100 guests attended the Dublin leg of the Irish Run the World – Global 5k, and helped us continue our support of hundreds of remarkable projects across Ireland.
For those of you who attended, thank you for your time, effort and support!
