On Wednesday, September 2, 2015 over 70 Chicago Young Leaders set sail aboard Shoreline’s Celebration boat on their annual Summer Sunset Cruise.
Led by event Chairs, Kelly Cannon and Abbey Canning, the Young Leaders enjoyed a perfect summer’s evening and the City of Chicago’s spectacular fireworks show. Pat McKillen, who always gets rave reviews, provided the music.
Announcements were made and information disseminated about the upcoming Young Leaders-Global 5k– The Irish Run the World presented by KPMG. The race will take place on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, and will span over 20hrs, and cover over 75km, in 15 different cities and 6 different countries. Starting in Brisbane, Australia, the Young Leaders will run a 5km in their respective city before passing the ‘virtual baton’ off to the next city.
The Global 5k will conclude when the last Young Leader crosses the finish line in Los Angeles!
The Young Leaders will also participate in this year’s 31st Annual American Ireland Fund Gala to be held Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at the Hilton Chicago, honoring Robert A. Sullivan, President and CEO of Fifth Third Bank-Chicago and Thomas J. Cashman, Member of the Chicago Board of Trade, and one of the Chicago Fund’s original founders.
