On Thursday 8th May, the Melbourne Young Leaders were joined on the Bowling Green at Flagstaff Gardens by an enthusiastic group of old and new friends of the Australian Ireland Fund.
With teams assembled, strategies in place and competitive juices flowing, eight teams battled on the green however it was Team Everest, led by Brian Mallon, along with team members Noirin McKeon, Wayne Grant and Tanya Bowman that took home the winning title.
Following a delicious spit roast, by caterers Spitting Image, Adrian Hanley, Melbourne chairman, provided an overview of the Australian Ireland Fund and welcomed our new supporters to join us in expanding our Melbourne footprint. Adrian encouraged everyone to attend our upcoming Gala lunch, held at Zinc restaurant on the 1st of June.
Amanda Cannon, our new Melbourne Rose, presented our first door prize, kindly donated by Catherine Murphy at Open Door Co Pty Ltd to Aisling Smith. Claire Lynch was the lucky recipient of two rugby tickets presented and donated by Eoin Doolan, Melbourne Rebels while Conor Arnold won a bottle of Moët, courtesy of Adrian Hanley.
An enjoyable night was had by all with great networking opportunities and occasion to give to our supported charities. It looks like this is set to be a yearly event on our calendar!
